Acupuncture uses a precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique, in which fine solid needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites, and stimulated manually or with electricity for the therapeutic purpose of modulating abnormal activity of the nervous system and/or the endocrine, exocrine and immune systems, in pain syndromes, functional problems, and any diseases in which these modulatory mechanisms are available. Therapeutic goals and treatment targets are selected based on the identified neurological dysfunctions contributing to the clinical presentation of the symptoms.

What to expect from an Acupuncture treatment in our Calgary clinic?

  • The intake form will be completed together with your practitioner and you will together decide on a treatment plan.
  • Needle insertion: Acupuncture needles are very thin, so insertion usually causes little discomfort and an overall relaxation will set in after the needles are inserted.
  • Needle manipulation: Your practitioner may gently move or twirl the needles after placement or apply heat or mild electrical pulses to the needles.
  • Needle removal: In most cases, the needles remain in place for 10 to 20 minutes while you lie still and relax. There is usually no discomfort when the needles are removed.

What Our Clients Are Saying

As an older runner and triathlete, it is hard to find a massage therapist with similar interests and knowledge of the sport. Not only the massage but also the suggestions, comments and recommendations are what sets Christine apart from other massage therapists. I highly recommend enduraHealth services."
- Don M, Triathlete/Runner
