FAQsWhat to expect in a therapeutic massage session?
All massage therapists have different treatment philosophies and techniques. It is important that there is good communication between you and your therapist regarding your treatment. Your massage therapist should explain what they are doing and why. During the treatment there should be open communication regarding the amount of pressure being used by the therapist. While deep tissue massage treatments are beneficial and effective they are not always tolerable and everyone’s pain threshold is different. What do I need to bring for my first visit? The best thing you can do for yourself is to drink lots of water before your treatment. What do I need to do after my massage? It is very important to drink lots of water after your massage. When you receive a treatment many wastes and lactic acid are released from the muscles into the body . It is important to flush those materials from the body through sweat or urine so they do not go back into the muscles. Having a warm Epsom salts bath will also help pull the wastes from the body to prevent stiffness or soreness the next day, which is not uncommon. A form of light activity is also recommended to keep the blood pumping through the muscles and joints to help rid of wastes. Is Massage covered by my insurance? Yes. Therapeutic Massage falls under the scope of practice for Massage Therapy, Chiropractic and Physiotherapy. Please confirm with your health provider directly. Do you direct bill? Yes we are set up for direct billing. What is the cancellation policy? Any changes or cancelling of your appointment must be done within 24hours of your appointment or there will be a charge for the FULL price of your treatment. Any missed appointments will be charged the FULL price of your treatment. |
